Latest boarding time

For foot passengers is 60 minutes prior to the ferry departure time (A part from the service Ibiza-Formentera where the boarding begins 15 minutes before of the departure).
For passengers travelling with a vehicle is 90 minutes prior to the ferry departure time.
It is important to respect the latest boarding time in order to avoid problems when boarding; once this time has passed, Baleària will not be able to guarantee right of passage.
The latest time for collecting the boarding card for passengers travelling with a vehicle is 90 minutes before. It is important to respect the latest boarding time in order to avoid problems when boarding; once this time has passed, Baleària will not be able to guarantee right of passage.
Only the driver of the vehicle will be able to board in it; the other passengers will have to board using foot passenger access. On the other hand, the driver and other passengers may disembark in the vehicle, except when the ferry’s crew does not consider it to be appropriate.
Vehicles must always be put on board with the driver.Trailers must always be boarded and travel with the vehicle that transports them.
The vehicle that boards must be the same as that stated on the ticket, and must be the length and height indicated in the reservation; should this not be the case, Baleària will not be able to guarantee boarding of the vehicle. If the vehicle corresponds to a higher rate than that of the reserved vehicle, the passenger will have to pay the difference in price. The company may request the vehicle's technical documentation for appropriate verification.
On the other hand, if it is a commercial vehicle with goods inside, the reservation must be made through the cargo department of the delegation of origin.
Documentation to travel
When checking in and boarding, all passengers must provide proof of identity by showing their DNI (Spanish National ID document), passport, ID document from their country of origin or driving licence. The ID document must be theoriginal and valid (if the document has expired, it will be necessary to show it together with valid proof of renewal).
Passengers aged under 14 years old travelling within Spanish territory do not have to present their National Identity Document. In this case, the adults under whose supervision the minors concerned are travelling will be responsible for them.
If travelling with a dog, both when boarding and when disembarking it must be wearing a harness and muzzle. Even if it is a quiet animal, the new surroundings and the crowd of people may alter its usual behaviour.
Other animals always have to board inside a container or appropriate box.
The passenger should communicate the presence of the animal to a member of staff on board as quickly as possible so that it can be put in place as soon as possible and not disturb the rest of the passengers.
Passengers with animals on board will always be the last to disembark.
Baleària’s guidelines regarding domestic animals on the ferries are not applicable in the case of guide dogs accompanying blind people. In accordance with the specific laws they have free access to the boat’s areas and the travel free
During the cross
>> Where do the animals travel?
Pets always have to travel in the ventilated containers or travel boxes which all of Baleària’s ferries have. These containers or travel boxes are set up on the deck, the garage or other parts of the ferry, in suitably ventilated and equipped areas, protected from the rain and the cold.
If the animal is travelling in its own container or travel box, the passenger who owns the animal should go to a member of staff on board, who will place the travel box in the appropriate area.
For hygiene and safety reasons, pets may in no case travel inside the vehicles parked in the cargo hold, or in the passenger areas (seating areas, cabins, restaurant, bar, reception, corridors, etc.), even if transported in their own box or container.
In no case may the animals go out of the container or the travel box during the crossing, and they may not be walked on the decks, even wearing a harness and muzzle. The animals may only travel in the containers provided by Baleària or in the passengers’ travel boxes, always located next to the containers.
>> Access to the animals during the crossing
For safety reasons, on high-speed vessels it is not permitted to go onto the deck during the crossing, and therefore it will not be possible to have access to the animals.
On the ferries, the animals can only be visited if the containers are located on a deck that can be accessed by the passengers, but in no case may the animals be taken out of the containers.
The animals can only be visited during established times (which will be displayed on the reception counter or window). On crossings of less than 4 hours the pets may be visited once, while on crossings of more than 4 hours they may be visited twice.
Passengers can only visit their pets if accompanied by a sailing assistant or crewmember.
